About Abrial
I have played the violin for 11 years, ever since I was 9 years old. I play several other instruments, and this is simply because I love music. Studies show that playing an instrument can strengthen the connection between the left and right brain. The corpus callosum in musicians is thicker than in those who do not play an instrument. Overall, playing an instrument works wonders for your brain which makes me so passionate about teaching it.
I played violin for an all-city symphony orchestra for about a year, and I played in my high school orchestra for 3 years. Now, I play for fun and to teach my students!

Wanting to pick up a new instrument? Or have you learned a little violin and want a little more of a challenge? These lessons are great for students just starting out on an instrument or students looking to get ahead. Whether the learner is a 10-year-old picking up a violin for the first time or a 30-year-old looking for a new hobby, my lessons are suitable for absolutely anybody.
You will first learn about your instrument. What is it? How does it work? What clef do you read music in? What are the names of the strings? How does each sound? We will explore proper posture and proper fingering techniques, as well as how to tune your instrument.
We will not stop there. The most essential part of playing an instrument is being able to read sheet music. We will explore treble clef and what each line and space mean on the notes. We will review rhythm and how to stay in time on a piece. We will review music time signatures, beat patterns, slurs and staccatos, and more. Essentially, all things to do with music literacy and articulation are on the table.
The goal of my lessons is not to make you a professional. If you are looking for quick and easy ways to become advanced at an instrument, this is not for you. My lessons are foundational skills that will create a lifelong career in music for my students. By the end of these lessons, my students will have all of the technique, ability, and knowledge to succeed and become great. However, the most tried and true way to sound like a professional is no secret; practice, practice, practice! It takes time, but anybody can get there, and I make sure of that.

Abrial is AMAZING!! She is my life's savior!! I was really struggling with college and almost quit until I met Abrial. My college experience shifted dramatically for the better! I can ask stupid questions and she will not make me feel a bit bad and just explain it to me so clearly. I feel like I am a priority to her and she makes herself available in her busy schedule for me. She is so smart! Any subject I bring to session she can help me with, she is literally the one-stop shop! She is respectful of the time and makes use of all the time we have got!! I honestly do not know where I would be today without her! My mental sanity has improved because she breaks things down for me, and I can literally go on and on. ( In a way, I am selfish and I don't want anyone to know about the best kept secret in Abrial but... I know I would not want someone to hold back this kind of help for me..)
I have had Abrial tutor me through High School and college with my reading and writing. She helped me get into nursing school with application essays and she helped me in my 12th grade ELA class with my final essays. She is really nice!!

Cancellation policy can be waived due to extenuating circumstances or emergency. However, as a full-time student who tutors and does volunteer work, my schedule is really, really strict. Please do your best to attend each session as scheduled. We're all human, things happen, and exceptions can always be made, but please understand that I value your time, and I hope that you will value mine!
