About Ty
As a musician, I've played countless different settings: in studios, in theatres, in bars and pubs, as a soloist, as an accompanist, with big bands and small ensembles.
As a teacher, I've worked for a couple private companies that send me to different schools in my area, each week.
With these Superprof lessons, I'm looking to give the full benefit of my experience/knowledge without the restrictions of a generalised curriculum.
I also hope to further develop my own career path as both a teacher and an independent artist.

I always tailor my approach to your individual needs and learning style. I don't teach an objective 'right' way to play music. Instead, I aim to provide you with a variety of methods to explore and experiment with. I want to help you find a playing style that makes you feel comfortable and confident.
Whether you want to learn that one song you love.
Or you want to sound more like your favourite artist.
Or maybe, you just want to understand music better.
Whatever goal you have in mind, I will break down all the obstacles you'll need to overcome. Guiding you through the hard stuff, applauding you through the easy stuff.
I have an Advanced Diploma of Contemporary Music Performance. I've been playing guitar for roughly 17 years and bass for 10 years. I also have experience as a pianist, vocalist & drummer. My background is in folk, blues, jazz and rock/pop.
I've been teaching private instrumental lessons for about 5 years, mostly kids aged 5-12.
Typical lesson time is 40-60mins (depending on student's age and preference)
Lessons are for adults and kids (aged 5+). Skill level: Beginner to intermediate.
