About Nikita

Hi, my name is Nikita. I am a professional musician, teacher and performer with more than 25 years of experience. I am originally from Russia where I started my musical education at the age of 8. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Nizhny Novgorod Music College and a Master’s degree from Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatory. During my career, I have toured across the world with many bands and wind orchestras. While living in the US, in New York City, I was a tenor saxophone player at Manhattan Wind Ensemble and Brooklyn Wind Symphony. Currently, I live in Toronto, Canada and provide my students with online and in-person lessons. I would love to be your teacher if you are eager to play the saxophone, clarinet, flute, recorder or you are interested in music theory. I speak English, Russian, also basic Spanish and French. My students successfully pass band auditions, exams like NYSSMA, RCM or ABRSM music theory exam, they enter music colleges and perform at different levels. Reading and understanding music sheets. Keep music count, maintain correct note value and pause during the play

- TRAIN MUSICAL EAR AND RHYTHM
Pick out musical tunes by ear, acquire a more informed perception of a musical piece. Develop coordination between voice and auditory sense.

- UNDERSTAND VARIOUS MUSICAL STYLES
Musical styles varying from classics to jazz to rock as requested

- PREPARE FOR MUSIC EXAMS
My students successfully pass exams like NYSSMA, RCM, ABRSM music theory exam, etc.

Having Nikita as a saxophone teacher these past years has dramatically improved my rhythm and sound quality. I previously took some lessons with a few other local teachers but didn't stick with any for long. I`m impressed. Nikita is an excellent teacher who is able to explain everything about music in simple words. In the past, I`ve taken classes with several other teachers but it wasn`t as comfortable and productive with anyone as with Nikita. 100% I`ll continue my studies with him!
