About Emma
My name is Emma Green and I am currently in my second year at the University of Bristol studying Law and French. I have passed my Grade 8 ABRSM piano exam as well as Grade 4 ABRSM in violin. In order to progress past Grade 5 in practical exams under the ABRSM board, it is required to pass Grade 5 music theory. I achieved 96/100 in this exam on my first attempt and hope to be able to help you gain similar success. I understand that these exams can feel daunting and I would love to help you as much as possible. I struggled with music theory, much preferring the practical side of music but I understand the importance of a solid grounding in music theory - it will really help you as the practical exams get more challenging, especially in terms of scales and arpeggios.

I understand that music theory can be tough but also recognise its importance, especially that all-important Grade 5 required to progress in the ABRSM practical exams. By focusing on techniques designed to help you in a time-pressured exam situation, you will be in the best position possible to nail the exam. Understanding the theory rather than just learning it is the best possible way to ensure you can tackle any question given to you.
I can support students as they work through the material for the grades until they are ready for their exam, with particular focus on past papers.
