About Christine
Hi! I’m Christine (she/her), I teach Music and English, and I work with students of all ages.
I am friendly, supportive and flexible.
I have a lot of experience supporting students with ADHD and ASD on a 1:1 basis to achieve their goals. I also have ADHD myself so I have personal experience of some of the challenges faced by neurodivergent learners.
I am a qualified music teacher with a decade of experience teaching secondary school students (ages 11 -16) both practical and theoretical aspects of Music.
Relevant qualifications and experience:
- BA (Hons) in Music (2.1) from the University of Cambridge
- PGCE (with QTS) in Secondary Music from the University of Cambridge
- 6 years’ experience as a Head of Department, responsible for the achievement of all my students and running 1:1 sessions to support students in a variety of ways. On average, students in my department achieved over half a grade better in Music than in their other subjects at KS4.
- ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory (Distinction)
- ABRSM Grade 8 Clarinet (Distinction)
Lessons are generally term-time only, although there is some flexibility here to fit around my family commitments.

Sessions with me are student-centred - I aim to ensure learning is accessible and enjoyable for everyone. I want all the students I work with to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and challenging themselves to try new things so that they can achieve their goals and be confident learners.
Whether you or your child are working towards a Theory exam or would just like to develop your musical knowledge, I will tailor our sessions to your needs and we will work together to plan for and keep track of your progress.
