About James

I am a composer and electronic musician working mainly on music for installations, theatre and albums. Currently, I am based in London after graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2021. I have taught music technology, composition, music theory and drums for over 6 years, offering tuition up to Grade 8 ABRSM level as well as guiding students through compositional techniques to help them attain their personal musical goals. As a composer my credits include work at the National Theatre, Barbican, Changing Room Gallery, Royal Scottish Conservatoire, Edinburgh Fringe and more. About the lesson

One-to-one lessons online or in person with producer, composer and Guildhall School of Music graduate. Learn and explore every aspect of produced music in tailored lessons that work towards your desired goal. Whether it's learning how to use your DAW, or making your first album, I can help in every aspect of the creative and technical process. Get to know synthesis in all its manifestations (additive, subtractive, wavetable, granular), learn how to record, process and manipulate recorded sound, understand and explore how creative effects can add interest to your work, and learn how to use mixing and mastering to get each of your creations release ready. I strive to create a relaxed and creation driven environment for students and want to facilitate your progression as a musician and producer whilst maintaining your love for music.
