About A Day in TALIA'S LIFE
I am a well-rounded individual with a type B personality. Some of my strong teaching experiences include: observing various teaching styles, theories, and methods, working for tutoring companies, substitute teaching E.S.L. and religious schools, and as well as teaching private lessons. Interaction with foreign students comes naturally, because of my multicultural and multilingual skills which include competency in English, Spanish, and Hebrew. Spanish was my first language, and I am fluent in it!
In the last few years, I have specifically taught E.S.L. to second language learners, and private voice, piano, guitar, and songwriting lessons. We focused on English pronunciation, reading, and essay writing during our lessons. In music, we did warmups in our instruments, and improved upon our deficiencies such as pitch, rhythm, and sight reading. In addition, I studied at U.C. Irvine Extension’s T.E.S.L. program, having delivered my expertise in the classroom via this certification. Thus, I gained the skills to teach your students effectively.

I make my lessons fun and interactive! I remember when I first began to learn piano at age 10 …. My piano teacher let me play pop music songs such as Michael Jackson’s “Heal the World”, and the theme music from the movie Jurassic Park! I’ll include fun videos in your subject to watch and learn as well as experiential, hands-on activities such as spoken or written exercises when studying your language! I also utilize the collaborative learning method - for example, a student could interview another student in “getting to know you” exercises. Then they verbalize back what they learned about the other student. Teamwork activities like these reduce the “affective filter” of student fear in ESL teaching methodology.
