English
I teach in a supportive, person-centred way that balances structure and creativity. I often use Piano Safari materials and rote learning to help beginners build confidence quickly (especially with rhythm, technique, and musical patterns), while also encouraging improvisation and creativity so students feel free to explore and enjoy music. For students who want formal progression, I also prepare learners for ABRSM or Trinity exams with clear goals, steady pacing, and regular feedback.
What a typical lesson looks like
Lessons usually include a mix of:
• Technique & healthy hand position
• Reading / ear skills (depending on the student)
• Repertoire (songs/pieces the student enjoys)
• Creativity time (improvisation, patterns, “make-your-own” music)
• Simple practice plan (so progress feels manageable)
Lesson length
Most lessons are 30–45 minutes, depending on age, concentration, and goals.
