I am an artist talented in many genres of music. I taught songwriting in Northampton university as a 3 day pop up session along side a couple youth workers who had helped me to run a songwriting class in their youth club.

Songwriting can be very technical and is very dependent on the artist and their taste in music or approach. Therefore the first lessons is usually coming to understand what music they like, listen too and what kind of music influences their approach to writing, then from their we take them back to the basics of writing, how to keep a flow and to deliver words/lyrics in different ways to portray a different sound or understanding of the Song and then once that is covered we then start to go more into detail and focus on the artist individually (if they are in a group) and actually get them from writing just one verse to completing songs and being able to break them down and see what can be changed, what made a difference or was good and why those different factors matter.
