About Lily
"I have over 9 years of experience teaching violin and helping students grow through both individual and group learning. I hold a BM in Music Education with a specialization in Orchestral Strings and Violin, which has shaped my practical and supportive teaching style. I enjoy creating lessons that help students build confidence while learning to work well with others.
I have successfully directed string ensembles, group violin classes, and youth orchestras in different learning environments. Chamber music coaching is one of my favorite areas because it teaches students how to listen, communicate, and perform together. I also help students develop section leading skills, understand ensemble dynamics, improve group tuning, and become reliable team musicians.
Over the years, I have worked with schools, community centers, and chamber groups, supporting students with different goals and experience levels. I remember a young ensemble that struggled to stay together during rehearsals, but after focusing on listening and teamwork, they performed with much greater confidence. I believe music becomes even more meaningful when it is shared with others, and I look forward to helping you experience the joy of ensemble playing and collective growth through music."

"My teaching approach builds strong violin fundamentals while giving special attention to expressive bowing and beautiful tone production. Lessons include posture, bow hold, intonation, rhythm, ear training, sight reading, and practical performance skills. I also teach détaché, spiccato, legato, dynamic control, and bow distribution so students develop confidence with different musical styles.
I explain each technique through simple exercises that connect directly to real pieces instead of only repetitive drills. For example, we often use short melodies to practice smooth bow changes before applying the same ideas to longer performances. This helps students understand how good technique creates expressive music.
I enjoy helping learners who sing regularly or perform in group settings improve their bow arm control through focused and consistent practice. Every lesson is adjusted to match individual goals while encouraging steady progress at a comfortable pace. My goal is to help you develop confident bowing, create a rich and expressive violin tone, and produce beautiful violin sounds that you can be proud of."
