I am a lifelong Irish speaker, having received my full education entirely through the Irish-medium system from early childhood, right up until university.

I have a bachelors degree in Irish Language and Literature from Ulster University (2019) and a postgraduate degree in Irish Medium Education from St Mary’s University College (2022).

I have spent the past 4 years teaching in a Bunscoil, where I get to teach and celebrate our beautiful language every single day. In this setting I have worked both as a as a general class teacher of Primary 3 and as a Literacy Support Teacher where I work with children of all ages in order to tackle literacy difficulties in both English and Irish.

Whether you’re a complete beginner, a parent hoping to support your child’s learning (in English or Irish), or someone reconnecting with their cultural roots, I offer tailored, encouraging lessons that meet you at whatever stage of your learning you are.

This can be done on a one-to-one basis or through small group sessions where we focus on conversation, grammar, and most importantly - confidence building.

These sessions can be done online or in-person depending on the age of the learner.

About the lesson

Each lesson is designed to be engaging, informative, and tailored to your goals/ability, whether you’re lesrning Irish from scratch, working towards exams or have literacy difficulties - Reading, writing or spelling (English OR Irish)

Lessons typically include:
• Understanding and working towards your goals.

• Conversational Irish to help you speak naturally and confidently.

• Grammar and structure explained clearly and simply.

• Phonics work to help with pronunciation/spelling.
