About Sam

I’m a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) with 35+ years of experience primarily in Development and Estate Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying and FM support. I am currently working for clients both in private and public sector across a broad range of schemes. This wide range of exposure gives me a well balanced view of the profession and the industries requirements in the round.

Successfully delivering projects of any size and complexity is an ability to apply theoretical processes with real life scenarios as solutions in real life are more than just science. I understand the challenges students and newly qualified/promoted professionals face when trying to link concept to real-world scenarios.

I tailor my lessons in order to demonstrate the theory, which then develops into the real life application which aims to be clear, concise and robust.

About the lesson

Anyone who enters this professions is aware its very fast moving and highly visible so knowing the basics is key however managing change and maintaining momentum on any project is one of my key targets.

You may be at undergraduate stage or working towards your APC, indeed you may have moved beyond that and would like some further support.

Wherever you are at I would like to think I can make the understanding clearer with flexible, approachable support and real life experience which should benefit you going forward.

I can offer tutoring and mentoring in:

*The Development process — from inception, feasibility, due diligence, site acquisition, planning and programming up to and including start on site.
*On site Construction procurement and programming- including milestones, Practical Completion and Post PC FM support.
*Planning strategy — how to secure planning permission and navigate policy.
*APC support.
*Coursework support — for MSc/BSc students in real estate, surveying, or planning
