About Frances

I am a graduate in English Language & Literature. I have a post-graduate teaching qualification & a master's degree in psychotherapy. I am a published writer & an emotional health & well-being expert. I believe that success is based on a deep awareness of the self & with a joy in life-long learning. My aim in teaching is to help the learner connect with their fundamental creative core & to know who they are & what they enjoy doing. I have been teaching, training, facilitating, coaching & advising for nearly 30 years with various client groups ranging from early years to postgraduate, from school & university student to older adult learners in school, community & health settings. My knowledge extends across a variety of subjects in education, creativity, health & well-being. I also work with smaller learning groups of up to four, using a peer-based approach to facilitate a supportive environment. I have found that this reinforces good communication, including enhancing self-confidence, self-esteem & negotiation skills. My methodology is based on co-production principles. I bring a creative, positive, person-centred & practical approach to all my students' work building up confidence, communication & problem-solving skills within both short & long-term learning goals. I have spent my career teaching, training, coaching & supporting both children & adults in different learning environments - academic, community, artistic, experiential & therapeutic. As a result, I am adaptable & flexible. Motivational & holistic strategies are key components in my approach. As a professional I have witnessed Frances’ enthusiasm and competence in working with people of ages in the capacity of tutor, advisor, consultant and teacher.
