About Mengqing
As a native speaker in both Mandarin and Cantonese, I am passionate about exploring the history and culture behind these complex yet elegant languages. During primary school, my mother would buy textbooks taught in the Chinese curriculum and teach me at home. Every summer holiday I would fly back to mainland China to participate in the end-of-semester exams up until grade 6. Despite not being able to access many resources, I still scored higher than 70% of local students.
In my final years of high school where I undertook Chinese as one of my University entrance exam subjects, I exceeded over 91% of my peers in Victoria, Australia.
My Chinese language abilities can undoubtedly provide the support you need whether you are in primary or high school!

My teaching style is specifically tailored to each student's needs because I acknowledge diversity in abilities. As the Chinese saying goes, "Interest is your best mentor", I focus on combining building students' passion and consolidating foundations, before diving into more advanced language techniques.
My typical lesson would include:
- Weekly vocabulary tests (15min)
- Essay topic discussion (30min)
- Oral practice: general conversation and detailed study (15min+)
