About Olivia
I am a hardworking student at the University of Oxford, who understands the difficulties that come with exam stress and heavy workloads. My prior teaching experience means I make tutoring sessions both engaging and informative, taking your education beyond the classroom and giving you a fresh perspective on what you have learnt in school. I am keen to help you rediscover your passion for learning and smash that exam or application!

I speak German to B2 level and I am a native English speaker. I achieved eleven 9s at GCSE, three A*s at A-Level and a distinction in my first year university examinations. I have experience teaching English as a foreign language in a German primary school. I also have three years of experience teaching art and dance classes for children, and volunteering at a local youth club. I am keen to expand this experience to an age range closer to mine, focusing on GCSE and A-Level students who are studying English Language, English Literature or German. Having received top marks myself in these exams in the last 5 years, my knowledge of content and exam skills is current and relevant. I am also available for help with personal statements and university applications. Lessons typically last one hour and can supplement work at school by focusing on specific texts and topics in the curriculum. A free introductory session would allow me to meet the student and discuss what areas they need help with, and which exam boards and texts they are studying. Following on from this, a literature session would focus on one theme or character, first discussing thoughts and examples and then applying this to past paper essay questions. In a language lesson we would focus on one or two grammar points which the student is struggling with, working on a clear understanding of the concept at a level suitable for them, before practising both aloud and on paper.
