About Pia
Teaching exists because I enjoy watching players solve complex problems on the board. You probably struggle with TACTICAL PATTERNS while juggling the demands of competitive play. After 12 years of participating in state tournaments, I transitioned into full-time instruction to help students avoid common errors.

Since you need a solid foundation, the process begins with a diagnostic rating assessment to see exactly where you stand. Analyzing blunder checking and pawn structures ensures the curriculum focuses on what matters for your specific development.
Piece coordination often falls short for beginners, so we address opening principles immediately to stabilize your game. As an Australian Chess Federation certified instructor, I utilize the insights gained from 10 years of competitive practice to explain concepts clearly. My own tournament history informs how I view these sessions. It feels satisfying to see a student finally grasp a difficult concept.
