About Joan
I presently teach 16 classes a week online, in person, and as a guest artist and choreographer. I have studied at Bates Dance Festival for many years and have taken modern, contemporary, ballet, improvisation and created dance pieces and performed at the festival. Besides attaining degrees in dance, I truly believe you have to be challenged by studying from others around the world!

As a director ,creator of a university program and a private school dance program I teach technique, composition, choreography, and laban movement theory. As performer with Charles Weidman Dance Theatre, NYC, ,original Boston modern dance company, Barbara Lazarus Kauf, guest artist Duke University, NC, the Williams School, CT , Vermont Dance Festival.
