About Romy
With 7 years of experience in violin teaching and performance, I am committed to helping students grow both musically and personally. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning foundational skills to advanced learners preparing for recitals, exams, and competitions.
One of the most meaningful milestones in my career has been helping students progress from struggling with posture, technique, or stage confidence to performing skilfully and expressively.
My lessons focus on strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering musical expression, creativity, and interpretation. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, and listening exercises to build a complete understanding of music.
Every student learns differently, and I tailor lessons to match each learner’s pace, goals, and style, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment. Teaching violin allows me to nurture creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love for music.

My violin teaching methodology emphasises motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, creating lessons that are structured, engaging, and designed to inspire growth.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s skill level, learning style, and musical goals, balancing technical training with creative projects and artistic exploration.
Motivation drives learning. I guide students to set meaningful goals, track progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering confidence, pride, and persistence. Communication ensures lessons are interactive and supportive, providing students with space to ask questions, discuss challenges, and share musical ideas freely.
Creativity is a cornerstone of my approach. I integrate improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises, helping students develop a unique artistic voice and emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for the craft, ensuring consistent growth and long-term success.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano, giving students a holistic foundation in musicianship. My methodology nurtures technically capable, expressive, and motivated musicians with a lifelong passion for music.
