About Gabriel

Doctor with experience in Surgery and Emergency Medicine, passionate about turning clinical learning into a confident, practical skill set for medical students.

I am a qualified doctor with an MSc in Human Anatomy and experience in both Surgery and Emergency Medicine, working in Level 3 and 4 university teaching hospitals. I have interest in the acute, therapeutic and procedural aspects of medicine and I'm very keen on medical education.

From my time as a medical student, I valued the rare occasions when tutors went beyond simply running through slides and instead made learning practical, engaging, and relevant. Those experiences shaped my own teaching approach. I now strive to give medical students a productive and enriching clinical experience (something I craved as a student) by blending knowledge with practical skills.

I adapt my teaching to meet students where they are, avoiding a one-size-fits-all approach. My aim is to help students build a strong working knowledge that allows them to return to first principles, think through problems, and approach cases with confidence. As the best teachers in my own journey inspired me, I hope to pass that inspiration on to others.

About the lesson

My lessons focus on building a strong clinical foundation for medical students in their clinical years, with an emphasis on practical application and clear clinical reasoning. Instead of simply covering textbook material, I break down complex concepts into an “easy-to-digest” format that makes self-study more effective.

Each session integrates key skills such as history taking, differential diagnosis, and management planning, often presented in realistic case-scenario formats. This method strengthens both knowledge and problem-solving ability.

I have seen many students who know the theory but struggle to apply it in real cases. Over the last 4+ years, I have helped students bridge this gap with proven results. Tutorials are interactive, adaptable, and tailored to the student’s learning style, ensuring that the concepts stick, and that they feel more confident in both written exams and practical assessments.

Tutorials are kept to a maximum of 2 hours and are scheduled during my time off from work, whether on weekdays or weekends. I make every effort to arrange sessions that align with the student’s availability so the learning experience is both flexible and consistent.
