About Ilya

I am a third-year Medical Sciences student at Western University with experience as a peer mentor tutor in math and biology. I enjoy making lessons engaging by using creative acronyms and personalized approaches for different learning styles. (who likes boring tutors that read off the slides or textbooks) My goal is to build confidence, simplify complex concepts, and help every student succeed while enjoying the process. I would love to work with you guys and solidify your understandings in high school and up to second year university courses like: biology, advanced functions, calculus and biochemistry.

About the lesson

Hello everyone, my name is Ilya Abedi, and I’m a third-year Medical Sciences student at Western University. I’ve worked as a peer mentor tutor at Western, helping classmates in math and biology and I’d love to help you too! I’m from Toronto and a big basketball and soccer fan (yes, I cheer for the Raptors). But beyond sports, I really enjoy tutoring. I actually was a student that was being tutored previous years, and I learned a lot from my own tutors. Now, I want to continue that journey by teaching others. When I tutor, I always make lessons engaging and fun using funny acronyms in biology to make tough topics stick. I also would love to adapt to your learning style, whether you’re more visual, logical, or hands-on, so it’s a personalized experience every time. Most importantly, I want to help you understand, enjoy, and succeed in high school up to 2nd year math and biology, while sharing the same tips and tricks that worked for me. So if you’re ready to feel more confident in your classes, I’d be excited to work with you!
