About Ryan

McMaster Med Student | Pre Med & Admissions Strategist |4.98/5 Star Rating (90+ Reviews) | 100+ Students Coached

Getting into medical school requires more than high grades, it demands a cohesive strategy from day one. As a current McMaster medical student who secured acceptances at McMaster (4.1% acceptance rate), UofT (8.3%), and Dalhousie (10.3%), I bring 3 years of coaching experience to help pre meds navigate every stage of the admissions journey.

How I Can Help You:
Admissions Strategy & Profile Building: Comprehensive consultations on high-impact extracurriculars, landing research opportunities, and strategically planning your application timeline.

Test & Screening Prep: Proven strategies and study frameworks for the MCAT and Casper scenarios.

Interview Coaching (MMI, VMPI, & Traditional): Timed mock stations paired with direct, actionable feedback on your structure, communication style, and high-pressure delivery.

Application & Essay Help/Review: Refining your personal entries and statements to effectively highlight your achievements.

Whether you're a first-year student building your portfolio or an applicant refining your final interview technique, I provide personalized, step-by-step guidance to maximize your chances. Reach out today to schedule a consultation!

About the lesson

What My Interview Coaching Looks Like:

Medical school interviews aren't about reciting memorized answers: they’re about demonstrating clear logic, sound ethics, and authentic communication under pressure. My structured interview program has helped over 50 students secure medical school acceptances across Canada, US, and Australia by moving away from generic advice and following a proven, phased curriculum. We follow the exact phased curriculum I used to earn my own medical school acceptances at McMaster (3.7% acceptance rate), UofT (6.7%), and Dalhousie (8.3%).

Phase 1: Topic Mastery & Framework Building
- Core Topic Breakdown: We cover every major interview domain one-by-one (ethical dilemmas, personal anecdotes, public health, and situational scenarios).
- Proven Frameworks: Learn structured ways to tackle complex questions on the spot without sounding rigid or scripted.
- Live Practice & Feedback: We practice newly learned frameworks live during our session, breaking down your responses immediately to fix weak spots in timing, structure, and body language.
- Targeted Homework & Reading: Between sessions, you’ll receive tailored assignments and high yield research articles/case studies to deepen your domain knowledge.

Phase 2: High-Stakes Mock Simulations
- Realistic Timed Stations: As your interview date approaches, we transition into full MMI, vMPI, or traditional mock interviews to simulate real test day pressure.
- Final Polish: Comprehensive review sessions to fine-tune your delivery, boost your confidence, and ensure you're fully prepared.
- Insider Insights: Strategies drawn directly from my own successful interviews at McMaster (3.9%), UofT (6.7%), and Dalhousie (8.3%).

(Need help earlier in the cycle? I also offer MCAT coaching with a 518 / 95th Percentile score, CASPer prep, and full application/essay review. Send a message to schedule your initial consultation!)

Perfect! Working with Ryan has been incredibly valuable for my medical school application. He is exceptional at breaking down how to write strong activity descriptions and personal statements, and he consistently asks insightful questions that help draw out the most meaningful parts of my experiences. He explains not just what to do, but why it matters, which has helped me understand how to clearly write my story. His guidance has elevated my application far beyond what I could have done alone.

Ryan tutored me for highschool math. He really went out of his way to ensure that I understood the concepts clearly and explained in a concise manner. He did not hesitate to match my pace and did not judge when I did not understand something. I recommend his lessons 100%!!

Ryan has helped me solidifying my understanding in math topics that had caused me trouble before like the fundamental theorem of calculus. In particular, he did this by explaining complicated topics in layman terms so that I could easily understand them. Further, if I had any questions in my homework he would use a step-by-step approach to break down the problem and explain the relevant concepts. Overall, I recommend him to any student trying to improve in their studies.
