About Rachel

I am a mechanical engineering PhD researcher working on electric vehicle design and the many mathematical things that go along with it! I have experience teaching at all levels from GCSE to university tutorials. I have tutored Maths for 9 years and am passionate that, with the right approach, anyone can improve their maths and maybe even enjoy doing it! I frequently find that students benefit from additional support focusing on exam technique to increase confidence and success in exams by refining their approach to exam questions and revision. Therefore I am running a four week course where I teach the essentials of exam technique to help you prepare for your exams. We will cover the essentials of exam technique along with technique for approaching difficult questions, methods for improving the efficiency of your maths revision, understanding the marking process and what examiners are looking for, and marking your own work during revision.

About the lesson

This is a group course consisting of four 1 hour sessions at a total cost of £100. Each week you will also have the opportunity to receive feedback on your work by submitting a past paper for marking. The course structure is as follows: Week 1: 14th of April Intro to the course and the essentials of exam technique and revising for maths exams. Paper 1 will be set. -Break for Easter- Week 2: 28th of April Review of paper 1 and understanding what the examiners are looking for. Paper 2 will be set. Week 3: 5th of May Review of paper 2 and techniques for approaching difficult questions. Paper 3 will be set. Week 4: 12th of May Review of paper 3 and summary of what we’ve covered. The AS Level session will take place from 6-7pm. The A2 Level session will take place from 7.30-8.30pm. Possibility for additional topic specific sessions depending on demand. £25 per session. Extra one on one tuition available in person or online. £40 per session.

Rachel has all the time in the world and she has no problem explaining stuff many times!! Rachel is so easy to get along with and genuinely makes maths so understandable and fun.. This four week online group course has a set price of £100. Depending on demand there may be the option of additional topic specific group sessions which will cost £25 for each hour long online group session. One to one tuition is available in person or online for £40 per hour.
