I’ve seen that every engineer faces a lot of trouble during the second year in understanding how to approach a particular subject. They struggle to understand derivations and complex problems that they’ve never heard of. I myself took a while to crack the approach that enabled me to develop a knack of scoring big.
The method which I followed and which I’m gonna teach my students is as follows.
1. Overview of the total subject/module/ chapter.
2. Scope of the subject in real life.
Ex- Strength of Materials (Mechanics of Materials) is useful for selection of appropriate materials in the construction industry.
3. Covering the syllabus (which is most important) - Here I’m going to teach the derivations step by step and explain the theory part. I’m gonna solve different seemingly difficult problems.
4. Clearing doubts and completion of syllabus from exam point of view.
