About Amy

I am currently a third-year medical student at the University of Auckland. I went through first year doing Biomed (overall GPA of 8.75 through all 8 papers). Graduated from high school with four A* CIE A Levels (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English) as well as receiving a NZQA scholarship in Biology and am willing to tutor any of these subjects if wanted. I am also a blue coat for MEDSCI142 which helped to further understand concepts with an insight into the labs involved. Outside of medicine, I enjoy watching kdramas and playing basketball! I like it when lessons are more interactive and active recall is something I believe is extremely helpful throughout my experience of tutoring and learning myself. I find teaching enjoyable and am happy to see my students succeed.

About the lesson

I have had experience tutoring students in both a one-on-one setting privately as well as in a lab setting as a demo. Through this, I was able to experience and develop different methods of teaching since everyone has their own way of learning. I am confident that I can adjust the lessons and find the best learning style ranging from going over concepts in a way that is easier to understand, testing and drafting up flash cards or mindmaps. Am happy to have lessons go 1+ hours (flexible). Mostly for first-years and highschool students who want to have a headstart to the content they are to expect.

Perfect! Amy tutored me on Medsci, she’s super patient and kind!! She knows exactly how to dissect concepts and ideas to make it easier to understand! (I’m lowkey a slow learner) I was able to pass my papers and score high on labs because of her :)
