I have three teaching approaches. For students that come to me with no previous knowledge, I start with the basic introductory lessons, assign homework, and monitor progress.
For a student that is already taking a class, but is struggling, I have a different approach. I initially focus on finding my student's weak points. Then, I patiently help my student work through these weak areas and strengthen them. I understand that every student is a unique individual and I can adapt to whatever learning method works best for the individual student. I believe it is important to help my students not only excel in a particular subject but also to understand what learning method works best for him/her as an individual.
For a student that is working on research projects or thesis projects, I focus on helping the student synthesize a well thought out project proposal. Subsequently, I guide my student through his/her project. ensuring that the project flows smoothly and the student gains a thorough understanding of the concepts applied.
