About Arya

I'm Arya, and I finished the IB in the May 2026 session with a 7 in Economics HL. I tutor because the subject genuinely got its hooks into me somewhere around market failure and never quite let go.

I wasn't a natural at it. I spent most of DP 1 writing essays that felt right and came back as 5s, and it took me a long time to work out that the content was never the problem: the marks were sitting in evaluation, in the diagrams I wasn't referencing, and in command terms I thought I understood. Once someone showed me that, everything moved. That's why I'm confident with students stuck in the middle: I've been in exactly that position, recently enough to remember what it felt like rather than just what fixed it.

Outside Economics I'm a fitness enthusiast, avid reader and small business owner. I'm patient, I don't mind being asked the same question three times, and I'd much rather you tell me you're lost than nod along.

I speak English, Hindi/Urdu and French. Message me with your predicted grade and what's currently going wrong. I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right person for it.

About the lesson

Every session starts with your work, not my slides. Send me a past-paper answer, an IA draft, or the question that beat you in your last mock, and we spend the hour on exactly that. I mark it live against the real IB criteria so you can see where each mark is won and lost.

A typical lesson will consist of, ten minutes diagnosing what actually went wrong, thirty minutes on the technique or content behind it, and the last twenty writing a fresh answer together so the fix sticks before you leave. You finish with a marked script, a set of diagrams in your own hand, and one specific thing to practise before we meet again.

I teach on Zoom with a shared whiteboard, so diagrams get drawn, labelled and corrected in real time rather than described. Between sessions you can send me practice essays and I'll return written feedback within 48 hours at no extra charge.

I'll be honest with you about your work. If an essay is a 9 out of 15, I'll tell you it's a 9 and show you the two moves that make it a 13, I guarantee that's more useful than encouragement, and it's how I got my own grade up.
