About Umu

I am a patient tutor who has 5 years experience tutoring English and Maths to GCSE level and Politics A-level. I think that everyone should have access to a quality education and sometimes obtaining this just requires an extra boost from one-to-one tuition. Often this can provide an individual with that extra boost in confidence to tackle anything ranging from homework to exam papers.

I have a focused approach to tutoring, using a variety of teaching methods to observe how my students learn best before narrowing and tailoring the tutoring session to their needs. I am flexible and can adapt my teaching style to suit the student. I am a dedicated tutor who spends her own time on development and has a problem-solving mentality. I do not give up easily.

I enjoy seeing students obtain the study skills to progress and flourish. Coming from a background where a lot of my secondary school study was self-taught, I understand how important this is.

With me, you will be investing in a tutor who cares and genuinely wants to see you do well.

Perfect! Confidence has soared
Umu has helped my son build his confidence so exam questions are no longer daunting or too difficult to attempt. Lessons were well planned and presented and she was very patient going over things if he did not grasp things first time. Always working to his weaker areas and happy to adapt a lesson if he found he was stuck on something at school. Highly recommend and my son will miss his lessons.
