About Dylan-Lee
I am a Mathematics Masters student at Unisa. My thesis topic pertains to using Math and Algorithms to optimise traffic flow. I achieved the highest overall student award at Unisa for my Honours in Applied Mathematics. My BSc was completed at Stellenbosch University in Biological Mathematics. I have taught Grade 8-12 Mathematics, Grade 10-12 Maths Literature and Grade 10 Life Sciences as a full time teacher during my Honours year. During this time, I discovered the joy of sharing knowledge.

I give Math lessons to Grade 8-12 students as well as first-year Calculus students. I can also assist BSc students that require tutoring with regards to Python Programming for their Scientific Computation module.
Methods of instruction: a simple recipe is followed. Break the theory down into its simple components. Get to that "ah-hah....Math is easy" moment because that is what Math is. Its easy! Next, the student(s) and I work through examples together. Gradually, I assist less as the student gains independence. Finally, a few problems are given to the student to solve on their own. We then mark and thoroughly diagnose the results. We will not shy away from including the difficult problems as those are the ones that get asked in tests and exams.
Teaching style: Math has received a reputation for being scary and/or boring. It does not have to be. For this, communication is key. I find it essential to talk to the students and for them to share their thoughts with me. This way I can understand how the student ticks and tailor the environment around this.
