About Solenne
School is already a grind - studying for SAT/ACT tests and AP exams can be stressful and overwhelming. I get it - I was there not too long ago! Luckily, I happen to really like math and English (enough to major in both at college) and have two years of experience helping students like yourself appreciate them too. I can help you alleviate stress, develop self-confidence, and increase your scores - ultimately, making the process a lot more fun than it feels right now.

A double degree in math and English, I mean, does it get more nerdy than that?!
Background:
2+ years of professional experience tutoring math and college essay writing, as well as leading exercise classes and backpacking orientation trips.
Method:
I use a two-prong approach: (1) test-taking is a game, you have to play it. Thus, I instill rigorous test-taking strategies to enhance performance. (2) Learning is genuinely fun and interesting - you will perform better if you enjoy what you're doing. By teaching "with" rather than "at" students using active learning strategies, I help them develop lifelong curiosity and problem-solving skills.

- With a B.A. in pure mathematics and English from Yale, I also provide advanced lessons to supplement high school learning in fields such as linear algebra, Western classical literature, or non-fiction creative writing.
