About Nicole
I hold a Master’s degree in Applied Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, with additional training in applied mathematics and quantitative analysis. I have taught introductory economics to MBA students and served as a university teaching assistant for courses including econometrics, industrial organization, experimental economics, and agricultural economics.
I also have several years of experience tutoring statistics and helping students work through challenging quantitative material. My background combines academic teaching with real-world data analysis, so I am comfortable explaining both the theory behind a concept and how it is applied in practice.
I know economics can feel intimidating when a course moves quickly or when graphs and formulas are introduced without enough explanation. I aim to create a patient, judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, working through mistakes, and building confidence in the material.

My goal is to make economics feel logical rather than overwhelming. I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind economic models, graphs, and equations instead of relying on memorization. I break concepts into manageable steps, use real-world examples whenever possible, and adjust my explanations based on how each student learns best.
A typical lesson starts with identifying the topics or assignments the student is struggling with. We then review the underlying concept, work through examples together, and practice similar problems until the student can explain the reasoning independently. I can also help with exam preparation, homework questions, reviewing lecture material, and strengthening foundational concepts before moving into more advanced topics.
My lessons are best suited for undergraduate students, MBA students, and others taking introductory or intermediate microeconomics or macroeconomics. My graduate training in Applied Economics and university teaching experience allow me to explain both the theory and the practical intuition behind topics such as supply and demand, elasticity, market structures, consumer and producer behavior, GDP, inflation, unemployment, fiscal and monetary policy, and economic growth.
