About Ewan
I started programming as a hobby around 2016, where it quickly developed into my passion. Since then, I've studied Games Programming, and I'm now specialising in Computer Graphics engineering as a Master's student at Sheffield Hallam University.
I have a real passion for learning. Anyone who knows me will tell you how studious I am - and I always set my standards to the highest. I often help mentor other students at my university; Reviewing lecture material, or teaching them various concepts - which has inspired me to become a tutor. There's really nothing I love doing more than helping others out.
Overall, I want to allow others to discover a passion for computing as I have. There are so many careers in this field, especially going forwards, it would be a shame to miss out.

These lessons focus on teaching students how to code, with a heavy focus on the C++ language, and some divergence into Web development (HTML5, CSS, JS).
I'll be blunt; C++ is hard. It's the programming language that gives my students the opportunity to fully understand how their code works. Learning C++ allows you to work with any programming language with ease, and to become better problem solvers, system designers and developers in the process.
The first session acts as an evaluation - a chance to find out what you want to learn, and whether I'm the right tutor for you. Based on this, I'll build a customised lesson plan for you, and set tasks appropriately. Lessons will typically last between 1 and 2 hours, depending on what's being covered.
