About Tvisha
Hello! I am a 21-year-old currently pursuing my Master's degree in Singapore. My journey with the English language has been uniquely immersive and lifelong. Having been raised and taught by a professional English educator (my mother) with over 15 years of experience, I didn't just learn how to score at the top of my class; I absorbed the art of teaching itself.
Growing up in a household where language education was a daily conversation, I developed a profound understanding of academic professionalism, effective classroom management, and the psychology behind student motivation. I know what it takes to build a supportive learning environment that pushes students to excel without overwhelming them.
Why I Teach
I am stepping into tutoring because I genuinely love helping others unlock their potential. Living, studying, and connecting with peers in a highly diverse and international environment, I see firsthand how complex and intimidating English can be for non-native speakers. The nuances, the exceptions to the rules, and the conversational idioms can easily feel like roadblocks.
However, I also deeply understand that a little bit of the right help goes a remarkably long way. I want to provide that bridge for my students. I tutor because I want to demystify the English language, transforming it from a frustrating hurdle into a powerful tool you can use with absolute confidence.

1. My Approach to Tutoring
Techniques and Teaching Methodology:
My teaching philosophy revolves around practical application, goal-setting and building real confidence. I believe that mastering English isn't just about memorizing grammar rules; it's about feeling comfortable communicating your ideas.
Goal-Oriented Learning:
Before we begin, we will identify your specific objectives—whether that is acing a school exam, scoring an 8+ on the IELTS, or simply feeling more confident in conversational English.
The Communicative Approach:
I prioritize active speaking and reading comprehension. For exam prep, we will break down test formats, practice time management and use targeted exercises to improve specific weak points.
Constructive Feedback:
I provide a supportive environment where making mistakes is just part of the process. I offer real-time corrections in a way that encourages rather than discourages.
Typical Length of a Lesson:
My standard lessons are 60 minutes long. I find this is the sweet spot for maintaining high focus without experiencing burnout. A typical hour is structured into three parts: a 10-minute warm-up and review of previous concepts, 35 minutes of core learning and targeted practice and a 15-minute cool-down focused on feedback and setting action items for our next session.
Qualifications and Experience:
While I am stepping into formal tutoring for the first time, my academic and linguistic track record speaks to my deep command of the English language.
I scored a perfect 100/100 in my state-level English board examinations.
I recently achieved an 8.5/9 on the IELTS, giving me fresh, firsthand knowledge of the strategies required to excel in rigorous international language assessments.
Academically, I hold a triple major Bachelor's degree that includes Media Studies and am currently pursuing my Master's degree here in Singapore. This background requires an exceptionally high standard of written and verbal communication, analytical reading and professional presentation skills, all of which I bring into my tutoring sessions.

IELTS Aspirants: Students or professionals looking to achieve a band score of 7.5 and above. I can share the exact strategies and frameworks. (I score an 8.5/9 for my IELTS test 2 years back)
