About Caymen
After receiving my degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from North Central University, I then went on to pursue my Master's in Theological Studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. While at NCU, I received an award for being the "outstanding Greek student of the year." While working towards my Undergraduate and currently in my Master's program, I have served as a Youth Pastor, previously with Middle Schoolers, and now with High Schoolers. My wife (an elementary teacher) and I live to teach and serve the next generation. Our goal is to help them catch the spark that I have found in studying the Bible academically for the last 5 years, and we hope that you will find it as well.

My Approach as a Tutor: As a tutor, I aim to make learning complex subjects like Biblical Greek, Biblical Studies, and Theology both engaging and enjoyable. My approach involves making each lesson tailored to the needs and learning styles of the individual. Hands-On Practice: For Biblical Greek, I employ William D. Mounce's "Basics of Biblical Greek" text and workbook. The text helps students to build fluency and in-depth familiarity with the language. In addition, I have personal study guides, handouts, and quizzes to help students keep track of their progress. For Biblical and Theological lessons, we will be using a variety of different texts based on the field in which the student wants to focus. (ex. New Testament, Old Testament, Johannine, Pauline, Mosaic Law, Wisdom Literature). Technology and Visual Aids: I use self-made materials such as in-depth reading guides which have diagrams to help internalize large concepts, as well as online flashcards. These support learning and help reinforce key concepts. Step-by-Step Progression: Concepts are introduced gradually, ensuring that foundational knowledge is built before tackling more complex ideas. We will not progress until the student is comfortable with the material. Typical Lesson Plan: Review & Warm-Up (5-10 mins): Begin by briefly reviewing previous material and answering any questions. New Content (20-30 mins): Introduce new concepts with clear explanations, incorporating examples and relevant teaching material. This will involve visuals and demonstrations to let students see the topics being demonstrated and how they can both replicate them and apply them to their daily lives. Application & Practice (15-20 mins): For both Greek and Biblical studies, students will be engaged with exercises, whether it’s reading Biblical texts, analyzing scripture, or applying theological concepts. Wrap-Up & Reflection (5-10 mins): End the lesson with a recap, allowing students to reflect on what they've learned and how they can apply it. Out of Class Material: Students will always have the opportunity to be present with extra material to interact and practice with outside of the lesson. For Greek, it is vital to interact with the practice material between lessons. For Biblical and Theological lessons, I will provide the student with enticing readings from the leading sources in the academic world, related Biblical passages, and other related material to help illuminate the Biblical world and bring a new depth to our studies. What Sets Me Apart: Passion for Teaching: I can promise you that your passion for Greek, Theology, and/or Biblical Studies will be invigorated as we study. Tailored Instruction: I take great amounts of time to understand each student’s goals and curate lessons to meet their unique needs, whether they’re new to these subjects or seeking advanced understanding. Comprehensive Approach: I blend linguistic, historical, and theological insights to give students a well-rounded understanding of the Bible, making connections across disciplines. Who the Lessons Are For: These lessons are designed for Middle School, High School, and Undergraduate students at varying levels of proficiency. Whether you're a beginner looking to start with Biblical Greek or an intermediate undergraduate student aiming to deepen your understanding of scripture and theology, my lessons are adaptable to your needs.
