About Ali Amir

I have done teaching on numerous occasions.
In my third year of university, I was appointed as the Teaching Assistant and took tutorials and remedial lessons. I also had to prepare and check quizzes and assignments. I was also a Class representative in my Business Finance course and would conduct informal tutorials to help out my classmates.

During my O-Levels, I gave private tuitions for English and Mathematics in my own house. Later on, during my A-levels, I was admitted to the ‘The Lyceum School Honours Society’ due to my consistent academic performance. As part of this, I gave remedial lessons to fellow batch-mates who required attention in Mathematics and Physics. Even before this, I would always volunteer to help out my classmates with their studies, as they thought that I have a natural way of making things easier while explaining.
After beginning my undergraduate program, a double major in Mathematics and Economics, I had more opportunities to teach. I did my social internship at AAP Trust where I worked as a Teacher and Curriculum Developer. I was tasked with giving classes to school-going primary and secondary students to prepare them for university entrance assessments. As part of this, I taught them English and Mathematics, on a format similar to SATs.

About the lesson

I am a student at Manchester Business School in the course MSc Quantitative Finance. As part of my postgrad programme, I am a student at the business school as well as the school of Mathematics.

I ended my undergrad programme in Mathematics and Economics with a CGPA of 3.87/4.00 and never got less than an A grade on any Finance course.

I have a passion for teaching Finance, Mathematics and other numerical subjects. Having studied it in my undergrad and now studying it intensively during my postgrad, I can easily develop a number of ways to solve a simple problem depending on the level of my students’ knowledge. I have vast experience in teaching and have always been liked by my students for being patient and clear as well as making things easier for them to understand.
