About Bergen

Hi! My name is Bergen, and I have over 8 years of experience helping students improve their ACT scores and build confidence in their academic abilities. I scored in the 30s on the ACT myself, so I understand both the pressure of standardized testing and the strategies it takes to succeed. My background is in psychology and statistics, which allows me to combine strong analytical skills with an understanding of how students learn differently.

One of the things I am most passionate about is creating an environment where students feel supported rather than judged. I have experience working with neurodivergent students and understand that not every student learns the same way. I focus on adapting my teaching style to fit the individual student, whether that means breaking concepts down differently, building confidence, improving testing strategies, or creating more structured approaches to learning.

In addition to tutoring, I also have professional experience in analytics and data analysis, which has strengthened my problem-solving and communication skills. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve their scores, but also to help them feel more capable, confident, and less overwhelmed by the ACT process.

About the lesson

My ACT lessons are designed to help students build both confidence and strategy while improving their scores in a structured and supportive environment. I require a minimum of two hours per session because ACT preparation takes time to fully review concepts, practice timing strategies, and work through real problems without rushing.

I also assign homework between sessions because consistent practice is one of the biggest factors in improving ACT performance. I stay up to date on current ACT formats, question styles, and testing strategies so students are learning material that is relevant and effective for today’s exam.

What makes my tutoring different is my individualized approach. I work closely with each student to identify strengths, weaknesses, testing habits, and areas that need improvement. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all method, I tailor lessons to the student’s goals and learning style. With over 8 years of experience tutoring ACT students and a background in statistics and psychology, I understand both the academic and mental side of standardized testing and help students learn how to approach the ACT with confidence and strategy.
