About Fiona

I am a dedicated piano tutor with a Master’s degree in Music and over nine years of teaching experience. My passion for the piano began in early childhood and has shaped both my academic and professional journey. Teaching allows me to share the joy, discipline, and creativity of music with students of all ages, and I take great pride in helping each learner grow at their own pace. Over the years, I’ve worked with beginners learning to read music, intermediate students preparing for recitals or exams, and adult learners returning to the piano after time away. I tailor my lessons to fit each student’s goals, ensuring that the process remains rewarding and clear. About the lesson

My piano lessons are designed to offer a balanced and engaging experience for learners at all levels—whether you're playing your very first notes or refining advanced techniques. Every lesson is adapted to the student’s pace, goals, and musical preferences, allowing for both structured development and creative exploration. I strive to create a calm, motivating atmosphere where students can grow in both confidence and skill.

We begin with the essentials: posture, hand positioning, finger strength, and note reading. As students progress, we delve into more complex elements such as dynamics, phrasing, articulation, and pedal use. I integrate music theory, rhythm training, and ear development into lessons naturally, so students gain a well-rounded understanding of the music they’re playing.

Repertoire is selected based on both technical value and student interest, ranging from classical composers to contemporary pieces. For students pursuing exams or performance opportunities, I provide goal-focused preparation, including stage presence, memorization techniques, and interpretation. For others who wish to play for enjoyment, we focus on musical fluency, expression, and building a personal connection to the piano.

With a Master’s degree in Music and nine years of teaching experience, I bring both academic insight and practical performance knowledge to every session. My goal is to help each student find their own voice at the piano, nurturing musicality while building strong technical foundations.
