About Josephine
My name is Josephine, and I’m really looking forward to working with you. I’ve completed a Master’s degree in Global Health, Conflict and Catastrophe Medicine, and I also hold a BA in International Politics, Economics and Law. Alongside my academic background, I’ve worked in research, policy, and youth-focused roles where I’ve developed strong experience in explaining complex ideas in a clear and practical way.
I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy helping people understand things that can initially feel difficult or overwhelming. Learning doesn’t always click straight away, and I know how much difference it can make when something is explained in a way that finally makes sense. I also really value seeing people grow in confidence as they start to feel more capable in their learning.
In my sessions, I aim to create a supportive and relaxed space where you feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at your own pace. My focus is not just on getting the right answers, but on helping you understand the process and build confidence over time.

I take a structured but flexible approach to tutoring, focusing on helping students fully understand topics rather than just memorising information. I usually start by identifying what the learner already knows and where they need support, then build from there in a clear, step-by-step way. I encourage active participation through questions, discussion, and practice tasks, and I adapt my teaching style depending on what works best for each individual. I also make sure to regularly recap key points so that learning is retained and confidence builds over time.
My tutoring is mainly aimed at secondary school students, sixth form students, and university-level learners, particularly in social sciences and related subjects. I also support students who want help with academic writing, study skills, and building confidence in their learning.
