About Jim
I have worked in schools with a short break since I left college in 2001. While I was still attending Utah State University (USU) I worked as a student teacher in the behavioral psychology and history departments. I worked in the Honors department at USU and helped incoming students get comfortable in the college environment. After leaving USU I worked as a School Psychologist in Wyoming and then Washington. I left working in schools for 2 years when I went into the Border Patrol but then had to retire due to a disability.
I returned to working at schools in Colorado and worked as a para-educator for over 10 years with students who had disabilities and returned to college and got my MA in Special Education while working in schools. I then began to work as a SPED teacher and caseworker.

I have Professional licenses in Special Education, Elementary Education, & Social Studies. I have worked with elementary school students as a teacher and para-educator for 10 or more years. I enjoy helping students learn and determine the most effective ways for them to learn and keep moving forward in all academic areas. I have a MA in Special Education, a BA in History, and have taught myself a number of different methods of teaching reading and strategies for teaching math as well. My favorite times in college were learning behavioral strategies and the year I went to college in the Republic of Ireland. You will have a hard time finding someone with more experience and practice than I have!
