About Addilyn
My teaching approach is centered on helping each student develop a strong and authentic musical identity. I believe the violin becomes truly powerful when players understand their own artistic voice. To support this, I use journaling, listening assignments, and self-recording, giving students opportunities to reflect, observe, and grow with intention.
We explore tone individuality, thoughtful artistic choices, and the skill of self-assessment. Some lessons focus on cultivating a rich, personal sound, while others dive into interpretation and expressive detail. I encourage students to question, to listen deeply, and to shape music that feels true to who they are.
For learners stepping into new performance spaces or returning to music with fresh hope, I create a nurturing environment that builds confidence from the inside out. We strengthen technical control while expanding expressive fluency, allowing students to rise beyond hesitation and embrace their full potential. Every step is guided, supportive, and paced with care.

I’m a violin tutor with 6 years of experience and a Licentiate of Music in Violin, and I specialize in bringing a fresh, modern approach to the instrument. Though I value classical fundamentals, I’m most passionate about contemporary styles. I love working with cinematic music, pop string covers, looping, and electric violin. These styles allow students to explore creativity in exciting and unconventional ways.
In my lessons, we dive into layering, improvisation, and crafting dynamic textures with pedals and loop stations. I also introduce apps and digital tools that help students modernize their playing and shape their own artistic identity. Some sessions focus on tone shaping, while others explore rhythmic freedom or expressive phrasing. Each lesson is flexible and responsive to the student’s goals.
I work with violinists of all levels, from curious beginners to advanced players looking to expand their style. My teaching approach blends structured learning with hands-on experimentation. You’ll learn technique, expression, and creative courage all at once.
