About Beck
Hi, I’m a guitar tutor with a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music (Guitar) and over 12 years of experience playing and teaching. My background blends formal academic training with hands-on experience across a variety of genres including rock, classical, folk, and blues. I’ve worked with both young learners and adult students, helping each one grow their musical confidence and technical skill in a way that suits their learning style. I believe music should be fun, expressive, and meaningful. That’s why I create lessons that are both structured and creative—balancing technique, theory, and real-world playing. Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your skills, I tailor each session to match your pace and goals. I focus not only on how to play, but also on why the music works—helping you understand the instrument on a deeper level. I encourage exploration and self-expression through guitar. My teaching approach focuses on helping each student grow in both skill and confidence while enjoying the journey of learning guitar. I guide students from the basics of finger placement and rhythm to advanced techniques in classical and jazz styles. Whether you're just starting out or already experienced, I adjust each lesson to fit your pace and goals. I support students who aim for precision and structure in classical guitar, as well as those who enjoy exploring the rich harmonies and improvisation of jazz.
Along with guitar, I introduce music concepts that support emotional expression and creative thinking. I encourage students to use music as a tool for stress relief, self-reflection, and personal growth. Lessons often include exercises in songwriting, improvisation, and mindful playing. I also help students improve stage confidence and communication through performance practices.
I teach various guitar styles including acoustic, electric, bass, and fingerstyle. We use real songs, music theory, and ear training to make learning fun and deep. Every student is supported with care, whether their passion is technical excellence or expressive freedom. My goal is to help each learner build a lifelong connection with music.
