About Zyon
Hello and welcome! I’m Zyon — an experienced and passionate chess coach with a calm and structured teaching style. I’ve been playing chess for over 15 years at a competitive level and hold official coaching diplomas from the Royal Dutch Chess Federation. Over the years, I’ve helped many students — both children and adults — to improve their skills, gain confidence, and discover the joy of chess. My lessons focus not just on moves and theory, but on truly understanding the ideas behind them. Whether you’re just starting out and want to learn the basics, or you’re already playing at club level and want to sharpen your strategy and tactics, I’ll help you reach your goals at your own pace. Thanks to my teaching background and analytical approach, I can explain concepts clearly, provide structure, and adapt lessons to your learning style.

My chess lessons are flexible and tailored to your level and ambitions.
Beginners learn step by step: how the pieces move, basic tactics and strategies, opening principles, and how to plan your game.
More advanced players can work on middlegame concepts, endgame techniques, analyzing their own games, and preparing for tournaments.
I aim to create a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere where you feel comfortable asking questions, practicing, and learning from your mistakes. Lessons can take place online or in person (depending on location), one-on-one or in small groups.
Together we’ll create a personalized lesson plan, so you can steadily improve and enjoy every move on the board!
