About Ammar

I am a PhD Engineer, university professor, researcher, and multidisciplinary academic educator with more than 25 years of experience in research methodology, quantitative and qualitative analysis, statistics, academic supervision, technical writing, and university-level teaching.

I have supported undergraduate students, master’s students, doctoral candidates, researchers, engineers, educators, managers, and professionals across different stages of the research process—from selecting a topic and developing a proposal to analyzing data, responding to supervisor feedback, preparing for a defence, and converting research into a publication.

My teaching philosophy is based on a clear principle: strong research depends on alignment.

The research problem must lead logically to the questions; the questions must determine the design; the design must guide data collection and analysis; and the conclusions must remain within what the evidence can legitimately support.

I explain not only what should appear in each chapter, but why it is required, how the sections relate to one another, how methodological choices can be justified, and how weaknesses can be identified and corrected.

My expertise includes:

• Quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research
• Research problems, questions, objectives, hypotheses, variables, and operational definitions
• Literature reviews, theoretical frameworks, conceptual frameworks, and research-gap development
• Experimental, correlational, survey, case-study, phenomenological, and other research designs
• Sampling, questionnaires, interviews, validity, reliability, trustworthiness, and research ethics
• Statistical analysis using SPSS, Excel, R, Python, Jamovi, and JASP
• Qualitative coding, thematic analysis, content analysis, and interpretation
• Thesis and dissertation structure, academic writing, APA style, and technical reporting
• Proposal preparation, supervisor revisions, oral defence preparation, and research publication

Lessons are personalized to your discipline, institution, research stage, and objectives. I can help you develop a study systematically, diagnose structural or methodological problems, understand supervisor comments, strengthen individual chapters, select appropriate analyses, or prepare for your proposal or final defence.

My goal is to help you become a more rigorous and independent researcher. You should leave each lesson understanding what must be improved, why the change is necessary, how it affects the rest of the study, and how to complete the next stage confidently.

Research becomes much easier when the research problem, theoretical foundation, methodology, data analysis, and academic argument are connected clearly.

My lessons help you understand and manage the complete research process rather than treating a thesis or dissertation as a collection of disconnected chapters. You will learn how to define a defensible research problem, formulate focused questions, select an appropriate design, analyze evidence systematically, and present conclusions that are logically and methodologically supported.

Each lesson is personalized to your academic level, discipline, institutional requirements, research stage, supervisor feedback, and immediate objectives. We begin by reviewing what you have completed, identifying conceptual or structural weaknesses, and establishing a practical plan for the next stages.

The first free lesson combines a discussion of your background, objectives and tutoring needs, an initial assessment of your current knowledge, personalized planning and scheduling, and a short trial lesson so that we can determine the most effective way to work together.

A- RESEARCH TOPIC AND PROBLEM DEFINITION
• Selecting, narrowing, and refining a feasible research topic
• Establishing the research context, problem statement, purpose, significance, scope, and delimitations
• Distinguishing a broad area of interest from a clearly researchable problem

B- RESEARCH QUESTIONS, OBJECTIVES, AND HYPOTHESES
• Developing precise research questions and aligned objectives
• Formulating quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, exploratory, descriptive, explanatory, or evaluative questions
• Constructing hypotheses, identifying variables, and ensuring alignment across the study

C- LITERATURE REVIEW
• Developing an effective search strategy and selecting credible academic sources
• Organizing literature thematically, conceptually, methodologically, or chronologically
• Moving beyond summary toward comparison, synthesis, critique, and identification of research gaps
• Building a coherent argument that supports the study’s purpose and design

D- THEORETICAL AND CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORKS
• Selecting and explaining relevant theories, concepts, and models
• Distinguishing theoretical frameworks from conceptual frameworks
• Defining constructs and illustrating relationships among variables or concepts
• Developing clear, logically defensible framework diagrams

E- QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH
• Experimental, quasi-experimental, correlational, descriptive, comparative, survey, longitudinal, and cross-sectional designs
• Variables, operational definitions, sampling, measurement, reliability, validity, and bias
• Questionnaires, scales, structured instruments, data collection, and statistical-analysis planning

F- QUALITATIVE RESEARCH
• Case studies, phenomenology, grounded theory, ethnography, narrative inquiry, and qualitative descriptive designs
• Interviews, focus groups, observations, documents, purposive sampling, and saturation
• Coding, categories, themes, reflexivity, credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability

G- MIXED-METHODS RESEARCH
• Convergent, explanatory sequential, exploratory sequential, and embedded designs
• Integrating quantitative and qualitative questions, sampling, data, findings, and interpretations
• Selecting mixed methods only when integration provides meaningful analytical value

H- SAMPLING AND DATA-COLLECTION INSTRUMENTS
• Probability and nonprobability sampling methods
• Sample-size reasoning, inclusion and exclusion criteria, recruitment, and representativeness
• Questionnaire construction, interview protocols, pilot testing, validity, reliability, and instrument refinement

I- DATA ANALYSIS
• Selecting analytical methods according to the research questions, design, variables, and data type
• Descriptive and inferential statistics using SPSS, Excel, R, Python, Jamovi, or JASP when appropriate
• Qualitative coding, thematic analysis, content analysis, and structured interpretation
• Connecting findings to research questions without overstating what the evidence supports

J- ACADEMIC WRITING AND THESIS STRUCTURE
• Introduction, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, conclusions, recommendations, and appendices
• Paragraph structure, argument development, transitions, scholarly tone, precision, and coherence
• Integrating evidence, interpreting results, acknowledging limitations, and avoiding unsupported claims
• APA and other agreed institutional citation and formatting requirements

K- RESEARCH QUALITY, ETHICS, AND REPRODUCIBILITY
• Internal and external validity, reliability, trustworthiness, transparency, and methodological limitations
• Ethics applications, informed consent, confidentiality, data protection, conflicts of interest, and responsible research conduct
• Documentation, data dictionaries, analysis records, syntax, audit trails, and reproducible workflows

L- SUPERVISOR FEEDBACK, DEFENCE, AND PUBLICATION
• Interpreting and responding systematically to supervisor or committee comments
• Preparing research proposals, presentations, oral defences, viva questions, and evidence-based responses
• Converting a thesis or dissertation into an article, conference paper, poster, or professional report

A typical lesson may include document review, conceptual explanation, structural diagnosis, methodological evaluation, guided revision, analysis planning, and a precise list of next steps.

You may bring your proposal, thesis chapter, dissertation draft, supervisor comments, questionnaire, interview guide, dataset, statistical output, framework diagram, or institutional template.

My role is to teach, guide, review, and help you strengthen your own research. I do not replace the student as the author or fabricate data, findings, sources, or academic work.

My objective is to help you produce research in which the problem, questions, literature, methodology, analysis, and conclusions form one coherent and defensible study.

Details

The first free lesson is a structured introductory and trial session. We will briefly introduce ourselves—including your academic or professional background and my relevant expertise—clarify your objectives, deadlines and tutoring needs, and assess your current knowledge through discussion and a short diagnostic activity. We will then establish a focused learning plan and schedule for future lessons. The remaining time will be used for a short trial lesson on a representative concept or problem, allowing you to experience my teaching approach before deciding whether to continue.
