About Marcello Owen

I have a background in Mechanical Engineering, where understanding concepts and applying logical reasoning are essential to solving problems.

My interest in tutoring began when I noticed how many students struggled with Mathematics and Physics because they had become accustomed to memorising formulae and following set methods without truly understanding the principles behind them. This often becomes a major challenge when they reach university, where independent thinking and conceptual understanding are essential.

I realised that by teaching students to understand the logic behind each concept, rather than simply memorising steps, I could help them approach these subjects in a completely different way.

My goal is to introduce this university-style approach to understanding at school level, empowering students to think independently, solve unfamiliar problems and build confidence in their abilities. I want students to discover that Mathematics and Physics are not simply subjects to memorise, but logical subjects they can genuinely understand and enjoy.

About the lesson

My lessons focus on understanding, not memorisation. I believe that once you understand the principles behind Mathematics and Physics, solving problems becomes much easier and more logical. My teaching style is calm, relaxed and patient, allowing students to learn at their own pace without feeling pressured. I break down difficult concepts into simple, clear explanations and help students develop the reasoning skills needed to approach unfamiliar questions with confidence. My goal is not just to help you pass exams, but to help you genuinely understand what you are learning.

I have designed my own revision textbooks which compromise of 4 levels ranging from beginner to advanced which students will be using for revision purposes . They include example , hints and solutions but take note that everything is applied to the core foundation and understanding of Mathematics and Physics
