About Amy

Hello! My name is Amy, and I bring over 10 years of experience working in higher education, specializing in student support, advising, and leadership-building. I am currently completing my TEFL (Teaching English to Foreign Learners) certification and am passionate about helping English language learners strengthen their skills through patient, personalized instruction. With a background in student affairs and a Master’s degree in Education, I focus on creating a supportive environment where learners feel empowered to reach their academic and personal goals.

About the lesson

My Approach as an English Language Tutor:

Teaching Method and Techniques:
I use a student-centered, supportive approach that prioritizes clear communication, real-world application, and confidence building. Lessons blend conversation practice, reading comprehension, listening exercises, and grammar instruction tailored to each student's needs and goals.

Typical Lesson Plan:
Each lesson includes a warm-up conversation, targeted vocabulary and grammar instruction, practical exercises (such as roleplays or writing prompts), and a short review to reinforce learning. I adapt lessons based on student progress and feedback to ensure continual growth.

What Sets Me Apart:
I bring a compassionate, patient presence to each session, creating a safe and encouraging environment for students to practice without fear of judgment. With a Master’s degree in Education, I design lessons grounded in best practices for adult learning and second language acquisition.

Who My Lessons Are For:
I specialize in working with English language learners of all levels, from beginners to advanced students. I support adults and young adults who seek to improve everyday communication, academic English, or professional language skills.
