About Bikram
I'm Bikram Upadhyay, a Full Stack Developer and software professional based in Sydney with a Master of Information Technology from Charles Sturt University.
Beyond my industry work building production software systems, I have a genuine background in education — I've taught cybersecurity and software engineering concepts, and I understand how to take something technically complex and make it accessible, logical, and memorable for a student who is encountering it for the first time.
I know what it feels like to learn programming from scratch. I also know what Australian students are expected to demonstrate in HSC computing subjects and first-year university IT units — and I teach specifically to bridge that gap between what's taught in class and what actually makes sense.
My teaching style is calm, patient, and structured. I don't assume you already understand something — I find the point where your understanding breaks down and we build from there. Every concept is explained with real examples, and every lesson ends with you being able to do something you couldn't do before.
If you're a student who wants to actually understand computers and programming — not just memorise notes for an exam — I'd love to work with you. And if you're a parent looking for someone reliable and qualified to guide your child through HSC computing, feel free to reach out directly.
Sydney-based. Available for online and in-person sessions.

Built for Australian HSC Students and Early University Learners
Whether you're preparing for your HSC Software Design and Development exam, struggling with computing concepts at school, or just starting university and feeling behind — these lessons are designed to meet you exactly where you are and get you to where you need to be.
What We Cover:
Computer Science Fundamentals
How computers actually work — hardware, software, data representation, binary and hexadecimal, memory, processing, and operating systems. All mapped to what the Australian HSC curriculum expects you to know, explained in plain language without the textbook confusion.
Algorithms and Problem Solving
Breaking down problems step by step. Flowcharts, pseudocode, logic, conditionals, loops, and how to think like a programmer before writing a single line of code. This is the foundation most students skip — and the reason they struggle later.
Python Programming — From Zero to Confident
Variables, data types, input/output, control structures, functions, lists, dictionaries, file handling, and object-oriented programming. You'll write real working programs, not just copy-paste exercises. By the end you'll be able to look at a problem and build a solution yourself.
HSC Exam Technique
Understanding how HSC questions are marked, how to structure answers for maximum marks, and how to tackle past papers with confidence. We go through real HSC Software Design and Development questions and work through them together.
For University Students
If you're in your first or second year of an IT or Computer Science degree and finding the foundational units challenging — these sessions are equally effective. We can align directly with your unit content and assessment tasks.
How Lessons Work:
Sessions are 1–1.5 hours, one-on-one, and fully tailored to your current level and upcoming assessment schedule. No two students are the same, so lessons are planned around your syllabus, your weaknesses, and your goals — not a generic script. You'll always leave each session with something concrete: a concept understood, a program written, a past paper question cracked.
This is for you if:
You're an HSC student taking Software Design and Development or IPT and want better marks
You're new to programming and want a patient, structured introduction to Python
You're a university student struggling with introductory computing or programming units
You're a parent looking for a qualified, experienced tutor for your child in Years 10–12
