About Lia
Shalom! I’m Lia, a native Hebrew speaker originally from Yavneh, Israel. When I was 13, I moved to Portland, Oregon, where I quickly learned how important language is for building connections, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Today, I’m a college student and serve in the United States military. Alongside my studies and service, I’ve spent the last two years teaching Hebrew to students of different ages and backgrounds. What started as helping friends communicate in a language other than English grew into a genuine passion for teaching.
One of the most rewarding parts of tutoring is watching students gain confidence as they begin to understand and speak a new language. I know that learning Hebrew can feel intimidating at first, which is why I focus on creating a patient, supportive, and comfortable environment where mistakes are part of the learning process, not something to be afraid of.
My lessons are practical, engaging, and tailored to each student’s goals. Whether you’re a complete beginner, a student looking to improve, or someone interested in connecting more deeply with Israeli culture, I’ll help you build real communication skills and confidence step by step.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy playing soccer and basketball, boxing, and learning about real estate, investing, and personal finance. I love meeting people from different backgrounds and helping them achieve goals they once thought were out of reach.
