About Ammar

I am a PhD Engineer, university professor, researcher, and multidisciplinary educator with more than 25 years of experience in engineering, project management, operations, decision analysis, quantitative methods, data analysis, and technical education.

I have taught and supported engineering and management students, graduate researchers, project professionals, technical managers, analysts, and career-transition learners. My experience includes academic instruction, project planning, cost and risk analysis, quality management, operations, technical decision-making, research, and professional reporting.

My teaching philosophy is based on a clear principle: engineering management should connect technical reality with managerial decisions.

A project cannot be managed effectively by considering schedule, cost, quality, risk, people, and technical performance separately. I therefore explain how these elements interact, how management tools should be selected, what their results mean, and how assumptions and decisions can be tested.

My expertise includes:

• Engineering management, project management, technical leadership, and organizational systems
• Scope, work breakdown structures, scheduling, critical-path analysis, PERT, and resource planning
• Cost estimation, budgeting, earned value management, engineering economics, and financial evaluation
• Risk management, uncertainty, sensitivity analysis, and decision trees
• Quality management, Lean, Six Sigma foundations, process improvement, and performance measurement
• Operations management, forecasting, inventory, capacity, logistics, and supply-chain foundations
• Operations research, optimization, linear programming, and multi-criteria decision-making
• Procurement, contracts, stakeholders, communication, negotiation, ethics, safety, and sustainability
• Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Power BI, Python, and quantitative analytical tools

Lessons are personalized to your level, discipline, course, and professional objectives. I can help you understand difficult theory, solve quantitative problems, complete assignments, prepare for examinations, analyze a case study, develop project-management documents, or improve a real workplace plan.

My goal is to help you become a more systematic and independent technical decision-maker. You should leave each lesson understanding which management method applies, why it is appropriate, how to interpret its results, and how to justify the final recommendation.

Engineering and project management become much easier when technical requirements, resources, schedules, costs, risks, quality, and organizational decisions are examined as one connected system.

My lessons help you move beyond memorizing terminology or mechanically applying management tools. You will learn how to define objectives, structure complex work, evaluate alternatives, build realistic plans, monitor performance, identify risks, and make defensible technical and managerial decisions.

Each lesson is personalized to your academic level, professional experience, course, assignment, examination, case study, certification objective, or workplace project. We begin by identifying your existing knowledge, expected deliverables, and principal conceptual or practical difficulties. We then establish a focused learning plan.

The first free lesson combines a discussion of your background, objectives and tutoring needs, an initial assessment of your current knowledge, personalized planning and scheduling, and a short trial lesson so that we can determine the most effective way to work together.

A- ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT FOUNDATIONS
• Engineering organizations, technical leadership, management functions, organizational structures, and professional responsibilities
• Integrating technical, financial, operational, human, and strategic considerations
• Decision-making under constraints, uncertainty, competing objectives, and limited resources

B- PROJECT MANAGEMENT
• Project initiation, scope definition, objectives, deliverables, assumptions, constraints, and success criteria
• Work breakdown structures, activity definition, dependencies, milestones, and responsibility assignment
• Project execution, monitoring, control, change management, closure, and lessons learned

C- PLANNING AND SCHEDULING
• Gantt charts, network diagrams, critical-path analysis, PERT, float, resource allocation, and schedule compression
• Baselines, progress measurement, schedule variance, forecasting, and corrective action
• Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Excel, or other agreed planning tools

D- COST AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
• Cost estimation, budgeting, cash flow, direct and indirect costs, contingencies, and life-cycle costing
• Earned value management, planned value, earned value, actual cost, cost variance, schedule variance, CPI, and SPI
• Economic comparison of alternatives, present value, annual worth, rate of return, payback, and break-even analysis

E- RISK AND UNCERTAINTY
• Risk identification, categorization, probability, impact, exposure, and prioritization
• Qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, risk registers, sensitivity analysis, scenarios, and contingency planning
• Avoidance, mitigation, transfer, acceptance, monitoring, and response ownership

F- QUALITY MANAGEMENT AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
• Quality planning, assurance, control, standards, specifications, and acceptance criteria
• Process mapping, root-cause analysis, Pareto analysis, cause-and-effect diagrams, control charts, and statistical quality concepts
• Lean management, Six Sigma foundations, waste reduction, continuous improvement, and performance measurement

G- OPERATIONS AND SUPPLY-CHAIN MANAGEMENT
• Process design, capacity, productivity, bottlenecks, workflow, forecasting, inventory, and resource utilization
• Procurement, supplier evaluation, logistics, distribution, service operations, and supply-chain coordination
• EOQ, reorder points, safety stock, queuing foundations, and operational performance indicators

H- DECISION ANALYSIS AND OPERATIONS RESEARCH
• Decision matrices, weighted criteria, cost–benefit analysis, and multi-criteria decision-making
• Linear programming, optimization foundations, transportation and assignment problems, and resource allocation
• Decision trees, expected value, sensitivity analysis, simulation foundations, and interpretation of results

I- CONTRACTS, PROCUREMENT, AND STAKEHOLDERS
• Procurement planning, requests for proposals, bid evaluation, contract types, and supplier selection
• Stakeholder identification, influence, communication, engagement, negotiation, conflict, and expectations
• Contract administration, claims foundations, changes, documentation, and professional accountability

J- STRATEGY, LEADERSHIP, AND ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE
• Strategic analysis, competitive priorities, technical innovation, portfolio selection, and performance alignment

• Occupational health and safety, hazard identification, risk controls, and safety-management foundations
• Professional ethics, public responsibility, conflicts of interest, transparency, and responsible decision-making

L- SOFTWARE AND ANALYTICAL TOOLS
• Microsoft Excel for calculations, models, dashboards, scenario analysis, optimization, and reporting
• Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 for scheduling and project control
• Power BI for management dashboards and performance monitoring
• Python, statistical tools, and simulation software when required by the course or project

M- ASSIGNMENTS, CASE STUDIES, AND PROFESSIONAL PROJECTS
• University courses, examinations, assignments, reports, feasibility studies, project plans, and management case studies
• Workplace planning, cost, risk, quality, operations, procurement, and performance-analysis problems
• PMP-related concepts may be reviewed when aligned with the learner’s agreed curriculum, but lessons are not represented as an official PMI training program

A typical lesson may include theoretical explanation, analysis of a real or academic case, development of calculations or management documents, software demonstration, interpretation, and validation of the proposed decision.

You may bring your textbook, assignment, project charter, schedule, cost estimate, risk register, case study, operational dataset, workplace report, or examination material.

My objective is not merely to help you produce one schedule, calculate one indicator, or complete one report. It is to help you understand how technical and managerial decisions interact and how to develop plans that are realistic, measurable, economically justified, and professionally defensible.

Details

The first free lesson is a structured introductory and trial session. We will briefly introduce ourselves—including your academic or professional background and my relevant expertise—clarify your objectives, deadlines and tutoring needs, and assess your current knowledge through discussion and a short diagnostic activity. We will then establish a focused learning plan and schedule for future lessons. The remaining time will be used for a short trial lesson on a representative concept or problem, allowing you to experience my teaching approach before deciding whether to continue.
