About Jardin

I am an electronic engineer currently working as a research officer at Auckland University of technology. My highest qualification is a Master of Engineering in the Biomedical field.

For 3 years while completing my undergraduate studies, I was an engineering tutor for all levels at AUT. Previous to this, I also worked at number works and words as a math tutor for school kids aged 5-17. I am happy to tutor electrical or electronic engineering, all levels of math, PCB design (Altium or similar), embedded systems (programming and hardware design) and even low level mechanical engineering.

I am based in west Auckland but am happy to make arrangements to meet outside of this area depending on the situation.

About the lesson

I like to meet students face to face as I believe this aids in conveying information clearly, while providing a higher likelihood for students to fully grasp concepts.

Most of the time the students I tutor know exactly what they want from me, but when this is not the case I take the following steps:
- I start my lessons by asking students what area they would like to focus on and then follow up with what they are struggling with around that area.
- From there I try to analyse if there are gaps in fundamental ideas that can help with a better understanding of the subject.
- After taking some time to work through the fundamentals of the subject I move onto some worked examples that are usually supplied by the student.

If the student is not happy with the level of tutoring I am happy to remedy the situation, as the last thing I want to do is rip anyone off.

He has since gained experience tutoring at a tertiary level, and acting as a support person to students as well. He is a very capable tutor who is able to cater his teaching style to each individuals needs, but more importantly he is a lovely guy, friendly and approachable which is essential for a comfortable learning environment.

The rates specified are an approximation. Depending on the level of the student and the distance travelled these rates are subject to change. This will obviously be arranged beforehand by myself and the student. A fee of $10 will apply to any cancellation made within 12 hours of the booked lesson.
