About Kyra
I am a chess tutor with over 7 years of experience, teaching students of all ages – from school children to college learners and working professionals. My approach is patient, flexible, and focused on building clear understanding. I use **real-life examples, case studies, and relatable situations** to make strategies easy to grasp and memorable. Along with chess, I also teach strategy games like backgammon, checkers, Risk, and Settlers of Catan to sharpen problem-solving and critical thinking. Along the way, I encourage critical thinking and creativity, helping students see patterns, analyse positions, and develop their own style. **Motivation and patience** are key; I celebrate progress, explain mistakes kindly, and turn challenges into learning moments. Beyond chess, I can also guide students in related strategy games like backgammon, checkers, and Risk, using them to sharpen decision-making and adaptability. My goal is simple: to make learning chess (and strategy) enjoyable, inspiring, and meaningful for every student.
