About Ammar

I am a multidisciplinary educator, researcher, engineer, trainer, and consultant with more than 25 years of experience in teaching, professional training, consulting, project work, and applied technology.
My academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, and a PhD in Knowledge Management and Artificial Intelligence. This combination allows me to connect technical practice with systems thinking, information organization, problem solving, and professional decision making.
Over the years, I have completed hundreds of engineering and technical projects, supported professionals and organizations, and supervised or assisted hundreds of university students and researchers. My teaching style is structured, patient, example-based, and adapted to the learner’s actual objective rather than a rigid one-size-fits-all sequence.
For AutoCAD and CAD/BIM specifically, I bring more than 25 years of spatial-modeling and technical-project experience, including work that connects design, engineering, documentation, software workflows, and execution. I teach AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, CAD/CAO principles, technical drawing organization, BIM-oriented production, standards, and troubleshooting with an emphasis on accuracy, clarity, and independent competence.
I teach in English, French, and Arabic and adapt explanations to the learner’s academic level, profession, industry context, software version, and immediate project objective.

CAD and BIM become much easier when every command is connected to a technical purpose. My lessons therefore focus on both software fluency and professional reasoning: how to create accurate geometry, organize information, maintain consistency, communicate design intent, troubleshoot files, and produce drawings or model outputs that others can reliably use.
I support high-school and technical-program learners, college and university students, architecture and engineering learners, drafters, designers, technologists, and professionals. You may be starting from zero, preparing for a course or exam, improving an academic project, learning a new software workflow, fixing a difficult file, or developing production skills for professional work.
Depending on your goals, we can work on:
• AutoCAD foundations: interface, workspaces, navigation, command logic, units, drawing setup, templates, and efficient keyboard/mouse workflows
• Precision drafting: Cartesian and polar coordinates, direct distance entry, object snaps, tracking, grids, ortho, construction geometry, and accuracy checks
• 2D creation and editing: lines, polylines, arcs, circles, splines, hatches, regions, offsets, trims, extends, fillets, chamfers, arrays, mirrors, stretches, and grips
• Layer and property systems: layer standards, colours, linetypes, lineweights, transparency, property control, ByLayer discipline, filters, and naming conventions
• Blocks and reusable content: blocks, dynamic-block concepts, attributes, libraries, symbols, standards, and strategies for maintainable reusable drawing content
• Annotation and documentation: text, text styles, dimensions, dimension styles, leaders, multileaders, tables, fields, tolerances, notes, symbols, and annotation consistency
• Layouts and plotting: paper space, model space, viewports, scales, page setups, CTB/STB concepts, lineweight control, PDF output, print troubleshooting, and deliverable checks
• External references and coordination: Xrefs, images, underlays, PDFs, paths, clipping, layering, updates, binding decisions, and multi-file coordination
• Title blocks, templates, and standards: sheet setup, company or course standards, reusable templates, naming systems, annotation conventions, and quality-control checklists
• Architectural and building documentation: plans, sections, elevations, reflected plans where relevant, details, dimensions, tags, sheet organization, and communication of design intent
• Engineering and technical drawings: schematics, layouts, fabrication/technical details, coordinate logic, drawing organization, tolerances where appropriate, and disciplined revision workflows
• Revit/BIM foundations: BIM concepts, project setup, levels, grids, views, categories, object-based modeling, constraints, parameters, and model-versus-drawing thinking
• Revit building elements: walls, floors, roofs, ceilings, doors, windows, stairs, railings, components, and disciplined use of types and instances
• Revit families and parameters: family concepts, loaded versus system families, basic parameter logic, reusable content, and controlled customization appropriate to the learner’s level
• Revit documentation: plans, sections, elevations, callouts, details, dimensions, tags, schedules, sheets, title blocks, annotations, and coordinated view production
• Revit standards and productivity: view templates, browser organization, filters, phases, design options where relevant, project templates, model hygiene, and repeatable office workflows
• BIM coordination and file health: links, shared project context, visibility/graphics, warnings, model organization, naming, audit habits, and practical troubleshooting
• SketchUp for design development: accurate modeling setup, groups/components, tags, scenes, sections, dimensions, organization, and communicating design intent - without turning this ad into a rendering course
• CAD/CAO interoperability: moving information between software environments, DWG/DXF/PDF workflows, units, scales, coordinate awareness, file cleanup, and avoiding common import/export failures
• File rescue and troubleshooting: diagnosing broken references, scale problems, annotation inconsistencies, layer chaos, plotting errors, corrupted workflows, performance problems, and model/drawing organization issues
• Academic course and project support: understanding requirements, planning your approach, learning the tools, reviewing your own work, and correcting errors without completing assessed work on your behalf
• Real-project mentoring: applying CAD/BIM methods to an actual drawing set, Revit model, technical documentation package, office standard, template, or production challenge while preserving your ownership of the work
My teaching method is diagnostic, visual, and project-based. We begin with your actual objective, current skill level, course brief, drawing set, model, software version, office standard, or professional problem. I identify the highest-value gaps, demonstrate the underlying logic clearly, and then guide you through hands-on practice until you can reproduce the workflow independently.
The goal is not to memorize isolated commands. You should understand why a drawing or model behaves as it does, how to keep work accurate and organized, how to choose an efficient workflow, and how to deliver technically reliable outputs.
